Tunnel Beach Walkway Open Again

Saturday 3rd November 2012, 08:07pm

Yes, after being closed for the lambing season, the popular track to Tunnel Beach is again open. The spectacular coastline of sheer cliffs, headlands and arches is only 10 minutes from Hazel House. The return trip takes an hour, with uphill exercise to the car park on the return. You will want to take your time to snap photos of the spectacular scenery, and to explore the beach only accessible through the hand carved tunnel cut in the 1870’s. Local politician, John Cargill, son of Captain William Cargill had it commissioned for his family. A sheltered, secluded and private beach for his daughters.
